Join our team as a Software Engineer - Information Security and help us build a secure and scalable database platform.
At planetscale, we're reinventing the database space and looking for a talented engineer to help us achieve our mission. You will be responsible for designing and implementing security controls for our cloud-native database platform, protecting millions of queries per second for some of the world's largest applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement security controls for our cloud-native database platform, protecting millions of queries per second.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to conduct security reviews, threat modeling, and provide secure coding guidance across our distributed systems.
- Conduct proactive red teaming and testing to identify vulnerabilities and help patch what you find.
- Evaluate, procure, and implement proactive security tools and technologies to strengthen our security posture.
- Build security automation and tooling to scale security practices across the engineering organization.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- You have a deep understanding of security principles, threat modeling, and secure coding practices.
- You have experience designing and implementing security controls for cloud-native applications.
- You are proficient in languages such as Go, Java, or Python and have experience with distributed systems.
- You have experience with security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption.
- You are passionate about building secure and scalable systems and are committed to staying up-to-date with the latest security trends and best practices.
