Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Research Engineers to tackle fundamental research problems and translate research advances into practical products.
• Contribute to the development of world-class AI models and algorithms that address pressing challenges in cloud observability and security.
• Collaborate closely with Datadog's product and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of AI research into existing and future products.
• Design and develop complex simulations, reinforcement learning training loops, and evaluation infrastructure needed to train autonomous agents.
• Develop and implement cutting-edge AI models and techniques that enable real-time decision-making and root cause analysis.
• Drive the research agenda, define key research questions, and identify opportunities for innovation in AI-powered observability and security.
• Publish research findings at top-tier conferences and in prominent academic journals.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related field with a strong research background.
• Strong track record of publishing research in top-tier conferences and journals in AI, ML, or CS.
• Proven expertise in developing and applying state-of-the-art AI and ML models and techniques to real-world problems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong software development skills, with experience in languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong passion for mentoring and knowledge-sharing.
